Introduction

Thank you very much for playing "Narrative Sprout." This document explains the features and usage of Narrative Sprout.

Game Overview​

Narrative Sprout is a game where you create stories in collaboration with an AI. Specifically, it consists of the following flow:

  • You set the theme of the story you want to depict.
  • The AI generates scenes using text and images based on that theme.
  • You decide the choice for the next development of the plot.

All play data is autosaved to your device. You can stop at any time, and your data will be preserved for when you resume.

System Requirements​

The requirements for running Narrative Sprout are as follows:

  • Modern Browser: A current internet browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (PC or mobile) is required.
  • Text Generation AI (LLM): The AI that drives the game. By default, it uses OpenRouter as the provider. Depending on your settings, other providers or local generation can also be used.
  • Image Generation AI: The AI used to add images to the scenes generated by the text generation AI. It utilizes local generation apps such as A1111-based tools or ComfyUI. Hugging Face Spaces are also available.
  • Internet Connection: If the aforementioned AIs are not running locally, an internet environment is required to access the AI APIs.

Sample​

  • If you feel that the setup seems tedious, please try loading the sample save data first. Click the Load Sample button on the Start Screen to load it. This save data serves as an example of what can be generated in this game.
