Introduction

Thank you for playing "Narrative Sprout." This document explains the features and usage of Narrative Sprout.

Game Overview​

Narrative Sprout is a game where you co-create stories with AI. Specifically, it works as follows:

  • You set the theme of the story you want to create.
  • The AI generates scenes with text and images based on that theme.
  • You decide the next development by making choices.

All play data is auto-saved within your device. You can interrupt at any time and resume later with your data preserved.

V2 is a complete rewrite of V1 (Legacy). There is no data compatibility.

System Requirements​

The following are required to run Narrative Sprout:

  • Modern Browser: A latest internet browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (PC or mobile) is required.
  • Text Generation AI (LLM): The AI that drives the game. By default, OpenRouter is used as the provider. Other providers or local generation can be used via settings.
  • Image Generation AI: AI for adding images to scenes generated by the text generation AI. Local generation apps such as A1111-based or ComfyUI can be used. Hugging Face Spaces is also available.
  • Internet Connection: A network environment is required for sequential loading of assets (programs) and fonts, and for accessing AI APIs.

Samples​

If configuration seems troublesome, try loading the sample save data first. Press the Load Sample button on the title screen to load it. This save data serves as an example of what can be generated in this game.
